SDTRHR
subsidizes participant lessons; lesson fees cover less than 40%
of our programming costs. Our budget requires us to raise the remaining
amount of our budget through grant opportunities, fund-raising and
donations from individuals and businesses.
SDTRHR wants to remain truly accessible
to the disabled in our community; we are committed to not turning
away anyone due to inability to pay. In order to offer our services
to those in need, we offer sliding scale scholarships to our participants
who are experiencing financial difficulty. Currently 30% of our
participants are receiving some form of scholarships.
We need your help
to ensure our ability to provide high-quality, individualized equine-assisted
sessions for individuals with physical and emotion challenges in
our community.

MAKE A DIFFERENCE
ANNUAL
GIVING: Donations
of cash provide the vital operational support for our daily
operations—board, farrier, veterinary and dental care
for horses and instructor fees. To make a gift you may:

Form and return the completed form to us with your check
payment or

 Designate
“Southern Delaware Therapeutic & Recreational
Horseback Riding, Inc.” as the recipient of your contributions
through the United Way Program at your workplace. When you
complete the United Way form with your employer, just list
SDRTHR's United Way code number # 9415.- Give a Memorial/Honorary
Gift: Make a gift in honor of someone or in memory of a
loved one. Simply make a note on the contribution form or
on the online order form under "Special Instructions."
We will then mail an acknowledgement to the person of your
choice informing them of the memorial/honorary gift.

SPONSOR
A HORSE: Our
horses, the life blood of SDTRHR, are one of our largest expenses.
At this time, we board our horses and it is very expensive.
To help defray the extraordinary expenses associated with
our four-legged therapists, you may sponsor a horse for a
month, quarter or a year.
For your gift of sponsoring
a SDTRHR horse, a plaque will be placed on the horse’s
stall stating the name of the donor. In addition, you will
receive a photo of your sponsored horse and your name will
be listed in the SDTRHR newsletter and annual report. To

SPONSOR
A PARTICIPANT: Because of the financial hardship
realized by parents or caregivers of children/adults with
disabilities, sometimes the cost of therapy is beyond their
means. To assist these families and make certain this therapy
is available to all who seek it, SDTRHR seeks funding for
scholarships and offers them to those families who demonstrate
financial hardships.

PLANNED
GIVING: Bequests:
You can make a bequest in your will, providing SDTRHR with valuable
support while possibly reducing your overall state and federal
estate taxes. Bequests can be made as follows:
- Specific Bequest:
A specific dollar amount or asset is requested. Example:
“I bequeath $10,000 to SDTRHR, Inc., a non-profit
corporation operating in the State of Delaware, located
in Lewes, Delaware."
- Residual Bequest:
A percentage of the balance of your estate after taxes is
requested: “I bequeath 5% of the residual value of
my estate to SDTRHR, Inc., a non-profit corporation operating
in the State of Delaware and located in Lewes, Delaware."
