SDTR would like to thank WBOC's for hosting Tim Ferry, our Community Relations Associate on today's Delmarva Life segment.  We appreciate WBOC for continuing to bring visibility to our program and the important work that we do to their viewing audience.

We want to recognize and thank Schell Brothers, our Garland of Roses, $4,000 level of sponsorship for Southern Delaware Therapeutic Riding’s (SDTR's) Kentucky Derby Day. This sponsorship supports the therapeutic riding lessons and programs held at SDTR.

Thank you for your ongoing support!

This year’s Mae Hall McCabe Award, a distinguished award given for exemplary community service by the Rehoboth Beach-Dewey Chamber of Commerce, is awarded to SDTR.  The chamber sponsors the award to recognize proven and tireless commitment to community service that leads to the betterment of the local area.  Several criteria are considered:

  • a history of commendable volunteerism
  • sustained commitment to community service
  • meaningful altruistic efforts for the good and welfare of the community

This award is a tribute to the dedication and hard work of all SDTR’s volunteers, sponsors, and management.  And, of course, our wonderful hard-working horses without which the program would not be possible.  Thanks and congratulations to all!

The Mae Hall McCabe Award was established in 1977 in memory of Mae Hall McCabe, who opened her real estate office in 1937 and contributed to the needs and causes of the Rehoboth Beach area for more than 50 years.  She helped organize the Rehoboth Beach Chamber of Commerce and was later the first woman to hold the office of president for any Delaware chamber.

ACTS_Plaque_3.jpgTim Ferry, Community Relations Associate with Southern Delaware Therapeutic Riding (SDTR), presents Atlantic Community Thrift Shop (ACTS) director, Karen Lesperance with a plaque recognizing their generous donations provided year after year to ensure SDTR's equine assisted services to children and adults living with disabilities.  A huge thank you to ACTS and their staff for their outstanding support, and the work they do for the community.

Southern Delaware Therapeutic Riding (SDTR) knows the best stories come from the source, of course, and that’s always a faithful, hard-working Horse. And a dedicated Rider. And a nurturing Instructor. So, we headed to the stable!

We asked SDTR Riders, Horses and Instructors to share their stories to show how your support can empower a difference in the lives of Riders like Rhianna, her favorite horse Lydia and their Instructor Lauren.
